On October 17, 2025, President Xi Jinping sent a telegram to David Adiong congratulating him on his re-election as President of the Republic of Nauru.

      Xi Jinping pointed out that since the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, bilateral relations have made significant progress, and the achievements of cooperation in various fields have benefited the people of both countries. Mr. President, I deeply appreciate the leadership of the Nauru government in adhering to the One China principle. I attach great importance to the development of China Nepal relations and am willing to work together with you, Mr. President, to continuously push the bilateral relations to a new level and better benefit the people of both countries.
